Mom's New Normal

Sunday 1-13-2019

Today has been a different day for her. She came in from church and went to her room to put her things away. After having lunch, she stated that she was going to go lay down as she was not feeling well. This goes right along with yesterday. Every time her phone rang, she would get up and go to her room to talk to whoever was on the other end of the line. She really should have a sign on her door that reads " Behind this door is the Secret Life of Kelly, Enter at your Own Risk". I love her dearly, but she tells me that I have a communication problem and we do not have the relationship that we once had. Well, no we do not, especially when you sit here 3 feet from me and spend all your time "reading" your phone!! She likes to shop on her phone she that I get to know the ladies at the post office by name. They are really sweet!!
This disease really sucks for all who are involved. Our whole life changes, from what we thought we were going to be as caregivers to really being parents. Having to make decisions for her that is her best interest. Just like we do for our children. Even if she doesn't like or understand it at all. Which is totally possible.

August 13

Well, August cane real quick this year and the kids are back in school. I just can't seem to fit everything I need to do in before they get out of school. Lord willing we will be able to homeschool them next year. I have been doing some research with the help of some friends. I believe that it will all work out. 

I have also lost a total of about 30 pounds since I saw my doctor back at the end of May! That is super exciting to me. I am having to wear belts because I refuse to buy some new clothes, even from a thrift store, until absolutely necessary. 

I have been sewing on different projects. Working out the details for some rag pillow cases for this awesome young man at church! I really hope he likes them. I am also doing some rice bags for a friend that does Jamberry Nails! They are amazing, I can't wait to have a party and get a discount on some for me and the girls. 

I have also quit my job, however I am looking at doing some care giving. I am just waiting to hear from the company to see what I need to do next. I am real excited that I am not going to miss any Saturday church functions anymore! Won't miss the kids birthdays either it the chance to celebrate them! 

Journey

I haven't blogged in a long time, partly because I thought that it didn't matter and with young kids I just could find the time. I have begun a new journey in my life, caring about myself. The way I look, think, study the scriptures, and I think most importantly, the way my children are educated. 

Over the last month, I ha e lost about 20 pounds and I just started exercising for the first time in a long time. It hurt but it also felt great. My youngest son came in the living room and picked up the small set of hand weights. He says, I want to work out too. LOL!! I live him dearly. Then my oldest daughter comes in and starts doing them with me. I tell you what, if that isn't natural motivation, I don't know what is. 

At the end of last school year,my youngest daughter who is so sweet and tender hearted, came home from school so upset and angry. My Pastor had also been preaching on the parents responsibilities and I really got convicted. There was not enough time to research homeschooling and being able to talk to other moms that I know to be able to get started this school year. However, this will be the last year that they go to public school. I want my children to be tender hearted and sweet!! 

I attended a Ladies Conference in Napa,CA in February, and one of the speakers had taught a lesson on how to read the Bible!! How inspiring it was to hear a new way I can read and mark in my bible the things that are important to me. So, when I got home I went and bought some Crayola Twistable crayons and a new bible and began a new journey in the word. It is amazing the things that you get out of it when you are totally open to anything. 

Everyday is a new opportunity for me to be able to share the word with others. The cashier at the store, your mechanic or even your neighbor. How many of us know our neighbors? I have lived in my home for 3 and 1/2 years. I know thw one to our right because they have kids that go to school with mine. I know a few others that live on the block because I'd kids or working, but I really don't KNOW any of them. That is kind of sad to say. They should have been the first doors I knocked on when I moved into my home. 

New Year for Changes

A lot has been going since I was last here. We have changed churches and I feel so free. I am helping in a Sunday School Class and maybe eventually will teach. My wonderful husband is song leader, he sings so good. We are all happy and doing well.

I look forward to going to church and learning what God has for me next. We have a Ladies Bible Study every month and I come home with a lot to talk about.

I am really overwhelmed by all the changes that have occurred over the last year. However, I know that God will keep me near. As a friend of mine said, God is stuck with me no matter what happens.

Puzzeled

So, I haven't been posting a lot lately. There has been a lot going on in our family. Please pray for us and the decisions that we are beeing faced with making. I know that God has something great for our family and he is always in control.

My husband too Gabby to the Father Daughter Ball saturday night. TMCC puts it on every year in November.

This is her hair!! It was very beautiful. Naomi can't wait until next year when she can finally go :)

Cookies!!

Today, my friend, Jennie, and I made the coolest sugar cookies. She really did most of the work :) My kids like thursdays now because they know that they are going to get cookies!! Next week it is snickerdoodles!! What are we making after that?? Stay tuned to find out .....
